  I have had braces and a lot of dental work growing up. My teeth are in good condition but I've always been looking at dental bonding to fix the roundness of the bottoms of my four front teeth... I am a student so have not always had the funds and have been researching and contacting different offices for rough quotes. A dental office will have a set price per tooth surface that you can usually see online or call in office - usually 120 - 250$. I called this office last week and they told me each tooth would cost upwards from about 120 and 4 teeth in good condition would cost 400$ according to their charts. I called a day ago and with a different receptionist the price she gave me was 350 per tooth. Today I called to make sure this wasn't a mistake and got another receptionist who was panicking on the line and told me - she would not like to give me another quote because it might not match up with what the others had said...? She put me on hold to try to find the other receptionists who were talking to me - must of been by coincidence... but eventually I got sent over to the one who gave me the highest price. She was a bit defensive and repeated the prices. She told me this was only an estimate and I should get a consultation with the dentist for the cost and whether or not I should get (600$ - 1500$ per tooth) ...veneers...? I was a little bothered by all this but continued trying to give them the benefit of the doubt since they are the only bonding office in my area, I thought maybe when the dentist sees how little work needs to be done he will tell me something different. They told me I needed to come in for a quick consultation. I asked if it was a free consult to which they quietly replied "no.. " Dental work is expensive enough as it is, especially if your a student. They told me it was a rough estimate but it was off of a printed chart, which seemed to change with each receptionist that answered the phone. About an hour later I booked a dentist in Edmonton to have my teeth whitened and my four front teeth bonded for 288$ with a consult included, Which brings me to my next question... Do receptionists make commission?...
